{"id":385,"date":"2010-08-11T12:51:47","date_gmt":"2010-08-11T17:51:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.martysparadox.com\/index.php"},"modified":"2010-08-11T13:21:34","modified_gmt":"2010-08-11T18:21:34","slug":"martys-spicy-sausage-pasta","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.martysparadox.com\/index.php\/recipes\/martys-spicy-sausage-pasta","title":{"rendered":"Marty&#8217;s Spicy Sausage &#038; Pasta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Original recipe created 2010-06 by Martin Falatic<br \/>\n<\/em><em>Published 2010-08-11<br \/>\n<\/em><em> Updated 2010-08-11<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I came up with this as a knockoff of a frozen-pasta-meal-in-a-bag I found at the store (very tasty but kinda expensive).\u00a0 You can use your favorite brand-name (or generic) items in this &#8211; I listed the brands I enjoyed but experiment away! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>(Note: <em><a title=\"Eddie Izzard - Death Star canteen\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hp69rg6Hdlo\" target=\"_blank\">even Lord Vader prefers arrabbiata&#8230;<\/a><\/em>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>16 oz box of rigatoni (<em>Barilla<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>3 T peanut oil<\/li>\n<li>3 bell peppers (1 ea. red, orange, yellow)<\/li>\n<li>2 med white onions<\/li>\n<li>2 T minced garlic<\/li>\n<li>2 t crushed red pepper<\/li>\n<li>2 lb Italian sausage (<em>Hillshire Farms<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>24 oz jar arrabbiata sauce (<em>Bertolli<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> if you don&#8217;t have a huge wok to work with, consider dividing this recipe in half.\u00a0 Really.\u00a0 It&#8217;s all fun and games until you try to put it all together for the final part and realize your pan overfloweth.<\/p>\n<p>Cook pasta <em>al dente<\/em> per directions, then drain and rinse in cold water.\u00a0 Set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Cut up peppers and onions (1&#8243;x1\/2&#8243; pieces) and saut\u00e9 in peanut oil with garlic and spices (sear them, ideally). Set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Slice sausage somewhat thinly and cook thoroughly (blackening is good).
